NEC began it's European operations by focusing on large-scale, high-tech
systems for the government and public sectors, such as satellite
communications earth stations. NEC then expanded it's operations to
include mass-merchandised products for the private sector, such as PCs
and peripherals, cellular mobile phones, and electron devices.
